A Place to Belong

When clients join the ESI community, they grow independently and alongside their peers- forming friendships and self-identity to help learn better self-determination skills and better communication skills. The structure of our services encourage purpose and achievement, giving clients a sense of common goals and the skill to advocate for what they want in their life.

Where clients can be anything they want, including themselves.

Day Services at ESI

Many individuals come to ESI to work on improving the skills of everyday living and to master or rebuild physical ability and mental agility. This allows them to expand and maintain a quality life with dignity and respect. A variety of activities help to improve mobility, enhance living skills, encourage self determination and increase feelings of self confidence. We also team clients together based on capabilities or interests so they learn to build relationships and achieve a sense of belonging. Some of those activities include:

We love to get out there!

MyCommunity Programs

Community based day service and pre-vocational programs are designed to build a familiarity with resources available outside of ESI and to enhance client’s comfort level with being part of the local community. Activities often include time at the fitness center or volunteering at area nonprofits, supporting the animal shelter or building book boxes. You’ll find our clients all over the county exploring and experiencing local life.

MyCommunity programs are uniquely designed by and around the interests of the people participating in the program which can include a focus in a variety of areas but not limited to:

  • Build relationships in the community
  • Explore & discover area resources
  • Socialization skills
  • Gain independence
  • Increase self-confidence
  • Engage in community activities
